AbdulRafiu Olatunji Bamgboye was born to Bamgbaye family at Balogun Abannigbe Compound Igbaja.

He attended Government Secondary School (GSS) Ilorin 1984-1985. Eko Boys High School 1980-1984. Demonstration Primary School. He engaged in trading apprenticeship from 1971 in Lagos until 1978. He then started his own business in petty trading until he furthered his education in 1980 and he went first to Eko Boys High School from 1980-1984 and Government Secondary School Ilorin in 1984-1985 for his School Certificate Qualification. He went back into his petty trading in 1985 until October 2011 when he returned to Igbaja and got employed at Al-Hikmah University, Igbaja Campus as a Clerical Staff where he served in different departments. He resigned on 3rd June, 2019 to return to his private business. He is happily married.
